/dev/null, a social network for developers
Found via dev-null.sh (opens in a new tab)
/dev/null (opens in a new tab) is a new social network for developers. I think it's really cool, and it looks good too. Posts are called commits and your timeline is a log. Even the names give it that developer touch.
For supposedly socially awkward devs, we’re already sharing quite a lot. Call small talk “commits” and suddenly we have plenty to say.
According to the about page (opens in a new tab), Nuno Maduro, Brent Roose, Matthieu Napoli and Pauline Vos built it in 48 hours, live from the JetBrains office. They started with an empty repository on 15 October. By lunchtime that day, a version was already online, and other developers could contribute through pull requests.
To join in, you sign in with GitHub. You do need a GitHub account, but every self-respecting dev has one, right?
I'm already on there. Add me on /dev/null as @TroTi13 (opens in a new tab).
Hat tip to Sam (opens in a new tab) for the find!
